Room 21 Video

E pā ana ki Ekara Nui 2015 – Akomanga 21

Akomanga 21 is a cocktail of untapped potential waiting for their moment to shine.  Bursting at the seams their energy is boundless and uncoordinated their thirst for knowledge is personified in their pukana.

Na reira, No mai haere mai ki te akomanga 21 hoki e mohiotia ana ko Ekara Nui 2015.
We are a cohort of Māori and Cook Island Māori students aged between 8 and 10 years who are seeking simple answers to complex questions about the world we live in.  Predominantly of the northern tribal affiliation with a spatter of Tanui, Tuwharetoa and Ngāti Kahungungu persuasion we bring to the learning table, respect, trust and a positive attitude towards learning and in return our expectations are simple we would like to receive the best learning tools and instructions practicable.

Ko tou rourou, ko taku rourou… ka ora ai i te Iwi.

We are on board with the ideology of cultural capital as were are very proud of our culture and who we are. Our tupuna have set their expectations for us in their kupu, waiata and purakau.

Whāia te iti kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe me maunga teitei

In addition we bring a few challenges which we will target this year as a high level priority.  Little things such as behavioural choices, staying on task, incorrect uniform, lateness to class and absenteeism to name a few.

This will be a watershed year for the majority of us and we look forward to the many challenges that may present itself on our learning journey and the positive attitude that we will take in facing these challenges.

Whai ake te ara tika mo ake

Na reira mauri ora ki te chur!
